Dudley safely progressed to the semi-finals of the KO Cup despite suffering a 47-43 defeat in a tight encounter at Buxton.
Carrying a 16 point lead to Derbyshire, Heathens put in a battling away performance with Ashley Morris and Lewis Blackbird putting in excellent displays.
But the former - Cradley club let a narrow lead slip in the closing stages against a resilent Hitmen side - although they did safely progress on aggregate.
Team boss Will Pottinger admitted he was disappointed hi to supports side could not take victory on the day although he was pleased to secure their spot in the next round of the cup.
Said Pottinger "I'm disappointed we didn't get the win to be honest having been ahead until heat 14.
"We're still through to the next round on aggregate though which was the main objective, and we're looking forward to the next round.
Whilst Blackbird and Morris both starred, Gareth Isherwood and Paul Starke also put in solid showings to support the top two.
Dan Greenwood suffered a frustrating meeting despite recording one superb race win, whilst reserves Nathan Greaves and Lee Geary struggled to make an impact on a tricky surface.

HEATHENS battled against the odds to take a miraculous 50-38 victory over Stoke on a dramatic night at Loomer Road.  Both Lewis Blackbird and Paul Starke scored faultless maximums to lead Heathens to all four points in their first away meeting of the National League campaign.
Having lost Ashley Morris to a hand injury in the early stages, the visitors put in a sensational display to take an unlikely win.  And team boss Will Pottinger was thrilled to take a vital victory as they look to challenge for National League glory.  Said Pottinger: "It's a superb win considering Ash (Morris) and Gareth (Isherwood) only scored one point apiece, and we're absolutely delighted with the result.  "When Ash pulled out whilst we were three points down I would have taken a point in all honesty, so to come away with all four is a tremendous effort by everybody.  "Lewis and Paul led the team superbly, both going unbeaten, and young Nathan did a great job in his last few rides as well.  "To still get four points with effectively only five riders really is a great achievement, and it bodes well for the rest of the season when we have a full team."
Youngster Nathan Greaves was arguably the star of the show - recovering from a poor start to spark the Heathens revival in the closing stages.  His reserve partner Lee Geary also notched 5+1 with a determined display, whilst Dan Greenwood upped his game to score seven valuable points.  But Gareth Isherwood suffered a frustrating evening against his former club before being forced to withdraw from his final ride after taking a heavy knock to his shoulder and ribs in a heat 10 spill.
The result moves Dudley up to third in the National League table, and they will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to the Isle of Wight.

DUDLEY went top of the table in dramatic style as they took a magnificent 52-37 away victory against Isle of Wight. An incredible late surge saw the injury-hit Heathens take all four points against the heavily fancied Islanders and maintain their perfect National League record. It completes a remarkable 48 hours for the former-Cradley club after they snatched a vital away win at Stoke on Sunday – and boss Will Pottinger was delighted with another hard-fought win.He said: “It was tight to start with, but then the boys pulled away in the last third of the meeting to get a great win. “With Max still injured, R/R for Gareth and no Ash (Morris) we were very depleted, so to go to one of the toughest tracks in the league and win by such a big margin to get all four points is very pleasing.”
Paul Starke returned to his former club to top score following a superb performance – linking up with the impressive Lewis Blackbird for crucial 5-1s in heats 13 and 15. Steve Boxall stepped in with a superb guest appearance replacing Ashley Morris at No.3, whilst youngster Nathan Greaves enjoyed the best night of his career so far as he continues to go from strength to strength at reserve.
Dudley will look to preserve their perfect record when they host Stoke at Monmore Green on Tuesday, August 13 – and they could have a full team at their disposal with Ashley Morris, Gareth Isherwood and Max Clegg all hopeful of shaking off their injuries.

DUDLEY stormed to their biggest win of the season as they crushed Stoke 66-28 at Monmore Green.  A powerful performance from the determined Heathens ensured they maintained their perfect National League record in emphatic style and stayed top of the table.  And team boss Will Pottinger was in a jubilant mood after a sensational all-round team display.
Said Pottinger: "I can't fault anyone's performances tonight - all the lads pulled together to cover Ash (Morris) and it was an excellent night.  "Lewis Blackbird and Paul Starke were superb, Max (Clegg) came back like he had never been away and it was great to see Dan (Greenwood) back on form as well.  "We're delighted with a convincing win and another three points on the board to move further ahead at the top of the table."
New No.1 Lewis Blackbird flew to an effortless 18 point maximum to lead the former-Cradley club, whilst Paul Starke also dropped just one point with a classy showing.
Reserve Max Clegg returned to the side in style to notch a magnificent 12+2 to bolster the lower order - whilst Dan Greenwood and Gareth Isherwood both enjoyed confidence-boosting showings in the middle order.  Nathan Greaves also put in a promising display at reserve to complete a superb all-around performance which ensured they covered the absence of skipper Ashley Morris through injury.

DUDLEY were crowned National League Fours' Champions in the most dramatic of circumstances on a memorable afternoon in Stoke.  After a day filled with drama, Heathens came out on top by just a single point as Lewis Blackbird incredibly held off Kent man Steve Boxall to triumph in a nervy last heat decider.  It was a magnificent performance by the resilient Heathens who battled back to take victory despite failing to score in the opening two races of the Grand Final.  And team boss Will Pottinger was thrilled to see his side add another trophy to their growing collection.  He said: “We’re absolutely over the moon to win the Fours, especially in such dramatic circumstances.  “It was a great team effort from all the riders and mechanics to give us another trophy along with the Pairs and the Shield earlier in the season.”  Paul Starke enjoyed a fine evening – going through the card with a classy display – whilst Lewis Blackbird also recovered from a fall in heat two of the final to take victory when it mattered and give his side victory.  Skipper Ashley Morris also impressed as he battled through the pain barrier following his thumb injury – although he was involved in a controversial incident with King’s Lynn man Lewis Rose.  A titanic battle saw Rose aggressively fend off the Heathens man – yet Rose was later excluded for unfair riding after the incident, which sparked a violent clash between the two after the race.  Meanwhile, Gareth Isherwood endured a tough day - being forced to ride Lewis Blackbird’s spare bike having destroyed his machine in a heavy spill in his opening ride.
Yet despite a frustrating afternoon, Isherwood fought on to contribute to what was a characteristic performance by Dudley to continue their remarkable form in recent weeks.

DUDLEY battled against the odds to continue their winning run with a 46-43 victory at Buxton.

With Ashley Morris missing due to Premier League commitments and guest Steve Boxall ruled out late on through injury, fans favourite Paul Starke answered a late SOS to take his place in the Heathens side.  Starke scored a vital 11 points from four rides before leaving at the interval to make the dash to Leicester where he will ride for Berwick this evening.  He helped to form an excellent top two alongside Lewis Blackbird, whilst Dan Greenwood also stepped up to put in a strong display.
Max Clegg, Gareth Isherwood and Nathan Greaves all made solid contributions as the former-Cradley club edged an important victory to make it eight wins out of eight in the National League.  Yet the win did come at a cost - with youngster Greaves suffering a possible concussion in a heat 12 spill although he looks set to be fit for Heathens’ trip to Kent on Monday.  It was certainly an excellent win for the resilient Heathens – and boss Will Pottinger was delighted to see his side add another three points to their league tally.  He said: “We were really up against it this morning after Steve Boxall was forced to pull out of his guest booking after crashing against Stoke last night.  “Fortunately we managed to persuade Paul Starke to take four rides before leaving for Leicester, and that made the difference for us in the end to be honest.  “It was a good performance from the lads that were here as we were obviously missing Ash. Lewis led the team excellently, Dan Greenwood did well and it was another great win for us to keep our good form going.”

DUDLEY saw their winning record in the National League come to an end as they went down 49-41 at Kent.  With No.1 Lewis Blackbird missing due to Premier League commitments, the Heathens were unable to snatch a point from Central Park against the improving Kings.  It was a disappointing day for the former Cradley club after eight consecutive wins in their league fixtures. But team boss Will Pottinger was far from concerned by the performance of his side.  He said: "It's obviously disappointing to lose our first league meeting of the season, but it's not a result which is going to have much effect on our season.  "As expected we really missed Lewis Blackbird, but all the riders gave it a good go on a difficult track where making the starts was paramount.  "In the end a couple of falls and refereeing decisions cost us and we were perhaps a little unfortunate not to get a point.  "We are back in action against Isle Of Wight tomorrow at home (Tuesday) so we're glad to have an opportunity to quickly get back to winning ways."  Dudley were hit hard by the absence of Lewis Blackbird due to Premier League commitments - with rider replacement contributing only two points in his place.
Although Ashley Morris and Paul Starke made double figures, the visitors managed only three race wins without their No.1.
Dan Greenwood and Gareth Isherwood put in solid displays in the main body whilst reserves Max Clegg and Nathan Greaves also contributed - yet the Heathens lacked the firepower required against a determined Kent side.

DUDLEY bounced back to winning ways in emphatic style as they thrashed Isle of Wight 60-31 at Monmore Wood.
Just 24 hours after suffering their first defeat of their National League campaign at Kent, the Heathens put in a rampant display to add three more league points.  And team boss Will Pottinger was thrilled to see his side back to their best with a powerful showing.  Said Pottinger: "It was a lot easier than what we were expecting in the end against a side tipped by many to finish top of the league at the start of the season.  "It was good to put right our loss against Kent, and it was an excellent performance from all the boys.  "It's good to put in another great showing to keep building our confidence and also add three more league points as we look to finish top of the table."
Lewis Blackbird and Ashley Morris both struck maximums for the home side - combining for entertaining 5-1s in heats 13 and 15 to cap off an excellent evening.  Yet although it was Blackbird and Morris who stole the spotlight it was a strong all-around display from the Heathens.
Paul Starke, Dan Greenwood and Max Clegg all suffered just one defeat apiece with classy performances as the home side accounted for 13 race winners and struck seven 5-1s.
Middle order man Gareth Isherwood also scored in every outing with a solid showing - and although Nathan Greaves endured a nightmare evening at reserve his team-mates more than covered his troubles.

DUDLEY moved ten points clear at the top of the National League table with a hard-fought 49-41 victory over Coventry Storm at Brandon.
In front of a large travelling Heathens contingent, a strong all-around team performance gave the visitors all four National League points.  And boss Will Pottinger was pleased to see all six riders contribute despite the absence of Gareth Isherwood.  Said Pottinger: "It's another four league points added to our total, and the boys did a good job.  "It was another quite tough track where starting was vital, but everyone worked hard to get us another great result to really establish our position at the top of the league."
Paul Starke top scored for the Heathens in his last meeting before taking over the No.1 spot - recording three race wins on his way to thirteen points.
Skipper Ashley Morris and Lewis Blackbird both scored well with Morris taking victory in heat 15 to secure maximum points for the visitors.
Teenager Max Clegg enjoyed another fine evening as he prepares to move into the main body next week - whilst Dan Greenwood and Nathan Greaves both battled hard to complete a strong team showing.

DUDLEY continued their magnificent form with another emphatic win - this time storming to a 60-32 victory over Buxton at Monmore Green.  In their last home meeting of the National League campaign, the rampant Heathens ensured they will finish the regular season with a perfect home record.
It was an excellent display from the former-Cradley club - yet team boss Will Pottinger was not entirely satisfied with the performance of his side.  Said Pottinger: "It was another comfortable win for us and another good performance from the boys.  "We do need to try and cut the errors out if we can as we threw away a couple of points tonight which we might not get away with in the play-offs.  "But overall we have to be pleased with three more points and strong showing from the team."
Skipper Ashley Morris led the side impeccably with a faultless maximum - completing his night with a magnificent battle with Charles Wright to join the impressive Lewis Blackbird at the front for a 5-1.
Paul Starke enjoyed a fine evening as he moved to the No.1 position, smashing Adam Roynon's National League track record in heat one on his way to a big points haul.  Despite moving into the main body, youngster Max Clegg continued his strong form with two paid wins - whilst Gareth Isherwood completed an excellent showing from the whole top five.  Down at reserve Dan Greenwood continued his upturn in fortunes with a strong display - whilst Nathan Greaves also showed plenty of promise despite a frustrating evening which yielded two falls and a shed chain whilst in points scoring positions.

Dudley tasted defeat in the league for only the second time this season as they slipped to a 48-42 defeat against arch rivals Mildenhall at West Row.  A battling effort from the Heathens helped create a thrilling National League encounter between two sides heading for the play-offs - with Dudley taking apoint for their troubles.  The result may have been different had reserve changes been utilised - but team boss Will Pottinger has defended his decision to give all riders four outings to ensure they earn as much track time as possible ahead of some big fixtures.  He said, "Obviously we are disappointed to lose, but like the defeat at Kent it's not going to make or break our season.  We could have made changes a few times but we chose not to as we felt it was important to give all the lads four races as they try to build some confidence ahead of the play-offs.  "I won't hesitate to make changes in more important meetings such as the play-offs and the KO Cup but I felt it wasn't worth knocking riders confidence by taking them out of rides today.  "In a way it may be a bit of a wake up call for the lads to let them know we can't just turn up and win - we need everyone at their best if we are going to win trophies this season".
Lewis Blackbird stormed to another big score - dropping just one point as he returned to his former club - whilst skipper Ashley Morris also recorded three race wins with a strong showing.  Down at reserve Dan Greenwood continued his upturn in form with a determined performance to end up with paid double figures.  Yet Paul Starke endured a frustrating evening at number 1 and with Max Clegg, Gareth Isherwood and Nathan Greaves all suffering meetings to forget the former-Cradley club were unable to snatch victory.

DUDLEY will take a 22 point lead to their KO Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday after a hard-fought 56-34 victory over King's Lynn at Monmore Green.
A bumper crowd was treated to a scintillating clash between the National League's two form sides with the table-topping Heathens eventually coming out on top.  A late surge including sensational 5-1s from Paul Starke and Lewis Blackbird in Heats 13 and 15 gave Dudley a healthy advantage ahead of the second leg - and boss Will Pottinger was thrilled with the performance.  He said: "It was a great performance for the boys and it's definitely a result which bodes well for the future.  "We started a little slowly but it worked out perfectly in the end, limiting when they could use a tactical ride before we pulled away in the closing stages.  "We were absolutely fantastic after the interval and it gives us a great chance ahead of the second leg.  "We know it's going to be tough with them having home track advantage but we have two tactical rides up our sleeve so we are confident of getting a good result to make it to the Final."
Lewis Blackbird scored another faultless paid maximum to lead the former Cradley club, once again forming a formidable top three with Paul Starke and Ashley Morris which accounted for nine race wins.  They received good support from No.2 Gareth Isherwood as he bagged 7+1 with a strong showing, whilst Dan Greenwood also continued his good form at reserve to bolster the lower order.
Teenage duo Max Clegg and Nathan Greaves did suffer frustrating evenings - with Clegg earning little reward following several close battles and being controversially excluded after Jake Knight fell in heat 14.  Yet the Heathens still had enough firepower to take a comfortable victory having notched 12 race wins and ran only five last places.

DUDLEY will carry a healthy 28-point lead into their National League play-off semi-final second leg after they stormed to a 59-31 victory over Isle of Wight at Monmore Green.  After a shaky start, the former Cradley club launched a sensational surge over the second half of the meeting - romping to four 5-1s in the final six races to give themselves a hefty advantage ready for their trip to Smallbrook next Tuesday.  It was a classy display from the rampant Heathens as they continued their perfect home record in 2013 - and boss Will Pottinger was delighted with another outstanding performance from his side.  Said Pottinger: "It's in stark contrast to last year when we struggled in our first leg against Stoke. This time we started a bit slow and it took us a while to get going, but things soon clicked and it was a great win in the end.  "It gives us a good lead to take to the Isle of Wight next week, and hopefully we can finish the job off."
Reserve Dan Greenwood led the charge in fine style as he flew to a five-ride paid maximum, whilst Ashley Morris also suffered just one defeat with a fine showing.
Lewis Blackbird battled bike problems to notch nine whilst Paul Starke bagged a useful 11 from the No.1 position.
Teenage sensation Max Clegg celebrated becoming a club asset by scoring 7+2 - and with Gareth Isherwood ending his night with two wins the hosts had a tremendous top five.  The result gives Heathens a timely confidence boost as they take a 22 point lead to King's Lynn for their KO Cup Semi-Final second leg on Wednesday night.

JUBILANT Dudley Heathens are through to their second successive Knockout Cup Final after a stunning 46-44 win at King's Lynn.  Carrying a 22 point lead from the first leg, the Heathens put in a battling display to pull off a shock victory and send out a strong message to their rivals.  It was another superb night for the men in Green, Red and White – and after suffering Grand Final heartache in the competition last year, team boss Will Pottinger is relishing the chance to seize glory this time around.  Said Pottinger: “We’re absolutely delighted with the result – it was a great team effort with everybody contributing to what was a brilliant win.  “These sorts of results can only boost our confidence ahead of the business end of the season, although we know from experience we can take nothing for granted.
“We’re looking forward to the final now, and hopefully we can manage to go one step further than last year by lifting the trophy.”
Skipper Ashley Morris top scored for the visitors with another classy display, whilst he received solid support from fellow heat leaders Paul Starke and Lewis Blackbird. But it was at reserve that the match was won as both Dan Greenwood and Nathan Greaves enjoyed superb evenings.  Whilst Greenwood continued his flying form to record three race wins – two of them paid – Greaves bounced back from a disappointing spell to enjoy a sublime night which yielded just one defeat against an opposing rider. Fellow youngster Max Clegg also put in a solid showing in the middle order – and although Gareth Isherwood endured a tough night Dudley still took a comfortable aggregate victory to seal their spot in the final.

DUDLEY booked their spot in the National League Play-Off Final for the second consecutive year as they stormed to a 106-74 aggregate victory over Isle of Wight.  After taking a comprehensive 28 point victory at Monmore Green seven days earlier, the in-form Heathens completed a memorable double over the Islanders with a narrow 47-43 victory at Smallbrook. A sensational display saw the former Cradley club emerge on top in a hard-fought contest – and boss Will Pottinger was delighted to see off a strong Isle of Wight side which featured four ex-Heathens riders.
He said: “It was a good team performance and it’s great to go into the play-offs on the back of another win.  “We had a pretty big lead on aggregate after the first leg but we still had a job to do, so we are delighted to come away with a good result.  “We’re delighted to get through to the final first and foremost, but to get the win on the night is just the icing on the cake really.”
Lewis Blackbird returned to the No.1 race jacket in fine style, only being denied a maximum in a tight heat 15, whilst Paul Starke also enjoyed a good evening to make double figures.

Skipper Ashley Morris recorded four vital second places to help his side to remain in control, whilst youngster Nathan Greaves continued his upturn in form with a marvellous display.  The teenager notched three race wins – two of them paid – from four outings with a determined display.  Dan Greenwood also fought hard for a four point return as he moved back to the main body – joining forces with Greaves for the visitors’ only 5-1 in heat eight.  It did prove a tough night for both Gareth Isherwood and Max Clegg as they struggled to make an impact on the large, swooping Smallbrook circuit, yet the strong performances of their colleagues ensured the side had enough firepower to emerge victorious.  Isle of Wight were hurt by the loss of former Heathens favourite Darryl Ritchings due to an ankle injury following a fall in his opening ride – and despite an excellent performance from Tom Perry the battling Heathens were still able to take a tremendous win.

DUDLEY Heathens' title hopes lie on a knife-edge after they took a 53-40 victory over King's Lynn in their Grand Final first leg at Monmore Green.
Skipper Ashley Morris struck a sensational maximum to give Dudley a 13-point advantage to take to the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday as they search for National League glory.  After seeing his side drop their fair share of points in a Monmore Green thriller, boss Will Pottinger revealed he was frustrated the advantage was not bigger.  Yet he remains confident his side can defend their lead when they travel to Saddlebow Road for the return fixture.  Said Pottinger: “I'm pleased as it's a decent lead to take, but it could have been so much more.
“It would have been nice to go with a bigger lead but it is what it is - we've got a 13-point lead and we just have to try our best tomorrow to get over the line.  “We're going to have to go and attack it as they will no doubt come at us right from the start, but we'll be hoping to make a good start to preserve our lead.”  Morris was undoubtedly the star of the show as he went through the card in fine style - taking magnificent wins from behind against Lewis Kerr in heats 9 and 15.  He received good support from Lewis Blackbird who himself bagged three race wins despite ending his night with a fall in Heat 15.  Middle order man Paul Starke fought hard to bag eight points, whilst Dan Greenwood and Max Clegg completed a strong top five.  Determined youngster Clegg combined with reserve Gareth Isherwood for a priceless Heat 14 5-1 following a scintillating race.  That meant Isherwood bagged wins in his first and last rides - one of them paid - whilst Nathan Greaves made a useful contribution early on to complete a solid team showing.  The same side will now take on the Young Stars on Wednesday in what promises to be a tense clash to decide the National League title.

DUDLEY finally lifted the National League title on an unforgettable night at King's Lynn as they completed a 100-86 aggregate victory in the Grand Final.  Carrying a 13 point lead from the first leg 24 hours earlier, the battling Heathens stormed to a sensational 47-46 win on the night.  The title was decided as early as heat 11 with a marvellous 5-1 from Lewis Blackbird and Dan Greenwood which sparked jubilant scenes amongst the loud travelling support.  It is the first league title the former Cradley club have won since they returned to the track in 2010 - and team manager Will Pottinger was thrilled to finally get his hands on the trophy.  He said: "It feels absolutely awesome - we've been so close a couple of times but we've finally got over the line and it's an amazing feeling.  "It's been a great team effort from everyone - the riders, mechanics and Graham Jones helping out as well.  "It's incredible to finally win the trophy, and to get the win on the night just put the icing on the cake really."  Skipper Ashley Morris completed a wonderful two nights to top score for the visitors - following on from his maximum 24 hours earlier to drop just two points.  Lewis Blackbird and Paul Starke both provided strong back-up - with Blackbird eventually involved in the heat 11 maximum which secured the title.  He was partnered by Dan Greenwood who sprung to life to record two vital wins in heats 8 and 11 to earn a well-deserved heat 15 appearance.  Reserves Gareth Isherwood and Nathan Greaves both built on an outstanding 5-1 in heat two to comfortably out score their King's Lynn counterparts, whilst Max Clegg completed a magnificent team display with a solid score.  It continues a remarkable season for the triumphant Heathens, as they add the illustrious league title to their wins in the National Shield, Pairs and Fours.
They will now battle to complete a clean sweep as they take part in the KO Cup Final later this month to pull the curtain down on a campaign which will go down in history.

DUDLEY have one hand on the Knockout Cup trophy after they stormed to a 58-33 victory over Isle of Wight in their first leg tie at Monmore Green.  After being treated to a hero's welcome by the biggest crowd of the season, the triumphant Heathens paraded the National League championship trophy before establishing a 25 point lead ahead of the decisive second leg at Smallbrook on Wednesday.
The former Cradley club soon recovered from a shaky start to hit their top form – recording six 5-1s on their way to a comprehensive win.  And team boss Will Pottinger was delighted with a strong all-around display from his side in their final home meeting of an unforgettable season.  He said: “We’re really happy with a 25 point lead. We got off to a bit of a shaky start and it took the lads a ride to get up to speed after three weeks without a meeting.  “But they all did brilliantly in the end. It was a great all around team performance and everyone contributed to a really good win.  “It puts us in a good position ahead of the second leg, but we’ll still be going to the Isle of Wight looking for the win on the night after winning there twice already this season.”
Skipper Ashley Morris once again led the charge with his fourth maximum in his last five outings on home soil, going through the card with an impressive display.  Fellow heat-leaders Paul Starke and Lewis Blackbird also suffered just one defeat apiece with classy performances.
Dan Greenwood continued his flying form with 9+2, including a tremendous 5-1 with Blackbird in heat 10 to snuff out a tactical ride from former Heathens favourite Tom Perry.
Reserves Nathan Greaves and Gareth Isherwood plus middle order man Max Clegg all recovered from non-finishes in their opening rides to add solid scores and complete a tremendous all-around showing from the Heathens.

DUDLEY completed a clean sweep of honours as they wrapped up a comprehensive 102-81 aggregate victory over Isle of Wight in the KO Cup final.
Carrying a 25 point lead from the first leg at Monmore Green 24 hours earlier, the Heathens slipped to a narrow 48-44 defeat on the night having been made to pay for a string of errors.
Yet they still did enough to comfortably triumph overall and cap off a historic season which has seen them dominate the third tier of British speedway.  And after adding more silverware to their collection, team boss Will Pottinger revealed their achievements have still not truly sunk in.  He said: "I don't think it's really sunk in yet, all the success we've had this season.  "I don't suppose the loss on the night is of any significance in the end really. It was all about making sure we won the Cup and we did that in the end.  "It's another trophy for the collection and a clean sweep of honours for us this season. It's been an amazing effort from everyone involved, and it's just a shame the season's over now really!"  It was another solid showing from the former Cradley club to ensure they did enough to defend the healthy advantage they built up in the first leg.
Skipper Ashley Morris took a priceless tactical ride win against the impressive Steve Worrall to calm any nerves in Heat 10 on his way to double-figures, paving the way for the impressive Lewis Blackbird and Dan Greenwood partnership to wrap-up victory in the very next race.
Blackbird recovered from a mechanical failure in his opening ride to record two race wins and add ten points, whilst Paul Starke also made paid double-figures with a solid showing against his former club.
Reserve Nathan Greaves suffered some rotten luck with a shed chain and a fall whilst in scoring positions - yet he bounced back to notch a confidence-boosting race win in his final outing.
Gareth Isherwood and Max Clegg also added vital points in the lower order to complete a solid showing and ensure a sizeable travelling contingent were sent home happy.
