Profile...

Bob first rode speedway in Germany where he was in the army.  When he was demobilised he had some second half riders at Belle Vue's Hyde Road.  Bob was spotted by Birmingham where he had just one match, he was put out on loan to Cradley at the end of June where he had 24 meetings before the end of the season.
Bob's best score was a 12 point maximum against Hanley on 20th September 1947, he also had a paid max a couple of weeks before on 6th September against Southampton at Dudley Wood.
At the beginning of the 1948 season Bob joined Coventry.  Scoring over 300 points for the Bees he was their out and out number one
In 1952 Bob joined Belle Vue again and had three seasons with the Aces before going out on loan to Edinburgh and Motherwell, he suffered a loss of form in 1954 and retired but made an unsuccessful comeback with  Belle Vue again in 1957.
