Jack was named as top junior in Australia in 1946/47 season, he came over to the UK to ride for Harringay's Division 1 side in 1947, he struggled in the top flight and although he stayed for two years and rode 50 matches for the Racers with a top score of seven points and an average of little more than four points per match it made it difficult for the club to keep him with the rule of no more than two non English riders per team.
He dropped down a Division in 1949 to join the Heathens where he was an overwhelming success he scored his first maximum on 27th May 1949 less than a month after joining the club. he went on to score double figures a dozen more times during 1949 to finish with more than 350 points for all matches that season.
He stayed with the Heathens in 1950 but suffered a terrible loss of form and failed to reach double figures at all during the 1950 season.
He was however capped for Australia against England in Sydney in January 1950 but failed to score.
Jack spent most of the 1950 season with Cradley but had his last match in England on 26th August at Coventry then went back to Australia, he continued to ride back home before retiring from the sport.

After retiring from speedway Jack took up a post as a mechanic with Quantas Airlines.  He sadly passed away in 1995.
