National League Division 3 Championship winners medal

Jimmy had his first experience of motorcycling in the army during the war, based at the Bari track in Italy.  When he was demobilised he was signed by Wimbledon, though most of his outings were with Eastbourne in Division 3, where he helped the Eagles to the Championship with some good middle order scoring.  In fact Jimmy was an ever present in 1947 with a league average of 7.25 and on five occasions he was just one point away from a maximum.  He had just two outings for the Dons scoring four points.
Jimmy was due to ride for Birmingham in 1948, a loan deal with Phil 'Tiger' Hart moving to the Dons but when Grahame Warren was whisked away to the Brummies after his magical debut for the Heathens Jimmy was moved to Cradley as compensation.

He doubled up with Wimbledon during 1948 doing 13 matches for them to get an average of 2.70 from League and Cup matches.  He rode 12 matches for the Heathens getting an average of 4.16 with his best score of 12 points in May against Hull.
He moved to Oxford in 1949 but his average dropped slightly to 3.86 and he decided to retire at the end of that 1949 season.

Jimmy Coy sadly passed away in September 1990
